What To Look For In A Mystery Shopping Company

When looking for a mystery shopping company that you want to shop with, there are five things that you want to look for.

When looking for a mystery shopping company that you want to shop with, there are five things that you want to look for.  These things are very important, as they will help to ensure you are shopping with a reputable company.

Number One: Are they Reputable?

Make sure they do not have any complaints with the Better Business Bureau. It is very easy to create a company and throw a website up and start marketing to the world. You want to make sure the company is reputable. You want to ensure that the company treats its shoppers well and pays when they say they do.  You are investing time and possibly money to complete these shops, therefore, completing a quick google search would be worth it.

Number Two: No upfront fees

Most reputable mystery shopping companies do not require a fee for you to sign up and start completing shops. You should be able to create an account for free online. You will usually receive access to a dashboard via a username and password to view available shops.  You may have to pay money for your shops and be reimbursed plus receive a shopper fee (paid to you for completing the shop). Again, you should not have to pay to sign up for becoming a shopper. If you come across a company that requires you to pay to sign up, find another mystery shopping company.

Number Three: Contact information for questions

Are you able to get in contact with a staff member with questions or clarifications about mystery shops? This is important. Do they have a phone number that you can call? Most mystery shopping companies will connect with you through e-mail yet it is important to note whether you can easily contact someone connected to the company with questions or clarifications.
